Dr. (Amb.) Yemi Farounbi

Dr. (Amb.) Akinyemi Farounbi, currently the Chairman of FITAC was a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines. Dr. Yemi Farounbi needs no introduction as his name is synonymous with Television. He had a master’s degree in geography from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University and was a former geography teacher at the famous Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, Ondo state.

He joined the services of WNTV/WNBS on November 19, 1969. Ambassador Farounbi is an administrator per excellence, an astute academic, newspaper columnist and excellent producer of TV programmes. Before his retirement from active service, he was at different times General Manager NTA Ibadan and NTA Akure where he left indelible marks. Dr. Farounbi had also taught in the Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan and Department of Mass Communication, The Polytechnic Ibadan.
